Finally Change Your Life This Year!

    Thursday, April 3, 2008, 11:21 AM [transformation]

With the New Year approaching, you might be thinking about what you would like to change about your life this year. Maybe you have decided to set some New Year’s resolutions or maybe you decided to scratch that idea this year because you are just too sick of making those resolutions and never seeing them happen. Well in either case, here is an outline you can use to help you make these changes stick so that you can have the best year ever!

    1) Reflect on the year 2007 and make some notes about what you did well and what you would like to change. By noting what you did well, you will be able to use that as fuel to help you achieve what you want to change. Think about how you accomplished those things so well. What special skills do you have that made it possible? What pushed you to make it happen? Use all of that power to create the same results with the new changes you want to make.

    2) Now that you have made a list of the things you would like to change, reflect upon what you wrote and ask yourself whether you REALLY want it or not. Ask yourself what you hope to feel or experience in your life. What is the essence you would like your life to encapsulate? Then, look back at the possible changes you wrote down and ask yourself if those changes really fit in with your essence. Is that goal in line with the REAL things you want in life? If it is, are you willing to do the work to make that change happen? If you aren’t, then the chances of you achieving it are slim.

    3) If you answered yes and you feel passionate about making that change, then you need to commit to envisioning it everyday. When you think about the essence of what that goal will give you, how do you feel? Create a vision in your mind of you accomplishing your goal. How does it feel, look, sound, taste, smell? Get your senses involved so that it becomes more and more real to you. The more you play that vision in your head, the more real it will feel to you and the easier it will be to achieve.

To learn more about these steps and to discover the additional 5 steps in this process, you can download my free report titled “7 Strategies to Change Your Life This Year” at www.changeyourlifethisyear.com. It is my gift to you for the New Year. I hope you will use it to realize your dreams and finally change your life for the better in 2008!

    Make Transformations, Not Changes

    Thursday, April 3, 2008, 11:19 AM [transformation]

Most of us fear change, so we stick with our current situations even when we wish things could be different. We want things to change, but we don’t want to have to go through what is necessary to make the change.

Perhaps a better way to think about this is to commit to making transformations in your life, instead of changes.

Websters II New College Dictionary defines change as “to make different; to lay aside, abandon, or leave for another.” Transformation is defined as “to change the nature, function or condition of.” Transformation entails so much more than just making a change. It creates a positive twist on a normally negative action. To transform is to convert the state of the situation into one of new possibility. It creates a new, vibrant energy where our energy was once being drained. To transform is to bring into light and reality the thing we desire.

If we can hold this intention of transformation, we will find passion for “changing” the things in our lives that we are unhappy with. Transformation enlists excitement. To transform your career into one that brings you joy, for example, is exciting, while on the other hand, thinking about changing your job is scary.

See if you can banish the word “change” from your vocabulary and use the word “transform” instead. Notice the shift in your mind, body and soul when you use this new word. Even saying you are going to go “change your clothes” can take on a new perspective. Instead feel what happens when you say, I’m going to go upstairs and be transformed.” Doesn’t that feel refreshing?
